A relatively primitive Ornithopod skull from the Jurassic of North America.   The Camptosaurus skull exhibits a structure possibly ancestral to other Ornithischians.    It may be a forerunner of the hadrosaur dinosaurs.    Camptosaurus is sometimes listed as a subfamily of the Iguanodonts.   Possibly extinct by the middle of the Cretaceous.
